Today is the Cat’s turn for The Athletic’s preview of Power 5 teams for the upcoming season. Well written and researched article. Most interesting quote was “While that may have been cause for concern in years past, Northwestern now views itself in the reload category, rather than rebuild. And with that comes expectations befitting a program that boasts multiple recent trips to Indianapolis.” I think it’s the first time I’ve seen reload used in describing the Cats, even when describing how the staff views the situation. Slowly but surely we seem to getting to that point.
As others have noted, The Athletic provides an excellent sports read. I think it’s a great value. It doesn’t have a dedicated writer following the Cats like many other teams, but we still seem to get a fair amount of coverage. Fitz gets mentioned a lot in general articles related to college football.
