We got blitzed again from the jump, didn’t shoot 3s (which we need to in order to open things up for Mart and Barney and something we had been trending up on) and got smoked on the glass/50-59 balls.

Our next 3 are must wins. We need the Welsh rocking. Get to 6-6 and you’ve got a legit shot down the stretch to get to 10-10 which is squarely on the bubble.

Rutgers
Wisconsin
USC
At Washington
There are wins to be had there. Collins has proven he can get the cats to play well after a loss.

We got blown out at two of the most, if not the most, hostile environments in conference. @ Rutgers and @ MI State would probably be the other really hostile atmospheres. Maybe it’s a just a coincidence we are competitive in calmer arenas. Maybe not.

It was ugly from the jump. One good thing is that Fitzmorris showed a bit of O, (Actually more than we have seen from any of our centers all year) Matt gets his on Dunks and putbacks but basically nothing else, Hunger has not really scored all year (though say him more midrange today that his frustrating attempts from 3) But Fitzmorris actually worked it to get that 7 ft jump hook a couple times

Was going to be a tough game to win, but became an even bigger stretch when Illinois got blown out at home in their last game. Knew they would come out HARD. Sadly NU didn’t match the intensity. Out rebounded 44-24…

Based on the experience of our top 5- Berry, BB, Leach, MN, and NM I’m surprised they aren’t more mentally ready for some of these games, especially on the road.

Reality is that it is tough to be up for every game and on the road probably harder. Plus the disappointments of the early road games. They were just slow in the early goings and did not get their feet under them, Martinelli getting blocked several times on his layups really took the wind our of their sails. Being out rebounded by like 17 early sure did not help. Everything was out of sync
