I'll defend Fitz on that count in that he was probably timing the rebuild to match the stadium project (i.e. it's pretty sensible to be rebuilding the team when you're playing away from campus in front of few of our fans), and that literally nobody could see a Fitz dismissal coming given his stature in the program.
Really hard to call plays when the line can’t block anyone. What exactly should the OV call when our starting RB averages less than 2 yards a carry? And the pass blocking may have been worse. Rutgers had 5 sacks!
I believe the lions share of the blame belongs on Jake not Anderson. The OL was as bad as I can ever remember it last week. However, us novices on here have given a half dozen reasonable suggestions to actually help out the OL. Jake didn’t attempt anything to reverse the trend. Nothing! So it is at lease co-blame in my book.
Fair enough. Plenty of blame to go around. I am just tired of the oline being a dumpster fire. This is anderson’s 5th year and the line has never been anything other than terrible.
But the line was terrible before that. In fact, we were all hoping when Anderson was hired that he'd be the savior that finally fixed the OL. I don't know if it is a recruiting problem or a strength training problem or what, but other than a few spectacular individuals, we have always had terrible OL play.
I completely agree. We all blamed Cushing, but the problem persists. Strength and conditioning could be a big part of the problem. Either way, Anderson is bad at his job.
Is the tiny t-shirt yelly strength and conditioning guy still around?
Putting an inferior quarterback in so that he can entertain by running like crazy before he gets whacked and injured is not a solution.
