I'll defend Fitz on that count in that he was probably timing the rebuild to match the stadium project (i.e. it's pretty sensible to be rebuilding the team when you're playing away from campus in front of few of our fans), and that literally nobody could see a Fitz dismissal coming given his stature in the program.If true, that's a dumb approach. Fix it now if you realize it's broken. There may be no tomorrow, as Fitz found out. It makes no difference if you have two new coordinators at the same time, such a bad excuse by Fitz.
Fitz probably wanted to have the program rolling again by 2025 with a fully rebuilt staff if Bajakian didn't turn around the offense.
