Ben Wrather declares for draft

Stop being a prick. They are entitled to pursue their dreams and to state so publicly.
Paddy fischer was a beast at NU and didn’t even have a cup of coffee in the NFL. None of these guys had stellar NU careers.

So what? It’s a bad look to pile on our own players after they put in 4-5 years for good ole NU because of extraordinary odds against making the league. Sometimes it is better to say nothing at all.

Troll! Paddy Fisher was incredible. NFL is a different game - he was a run stopper. Didn’t he play in the AFL or UFL too?

Fisher was a beast. Gallagher was a beast. McGarigle and Fitz were Big Ten beasts as players. Who cares if they don’t make it in the NFL? Don’t feel the trolls.

Right @CoralSpringsCat ? Even if Greg Newsome II is a bust… who cares?

I never thought Blake Hance would make it in the NFL but he is still collecting a paycheck.
If Big Ben wants to give it a shot more power to him and wish him the best. At least he is pursuing his dream. If he gets drafted great or signs a free agent contract great and if not at the very least he went for his dream. Nothing wrong with that.
Good luck to a former Wildcat football player.

One of the great Wildcat sports stories. Thankfully the story has been immortalized on Hance’s Wikipedia page:

Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield complimented Hance while noting they had not had a chance to practice together. "We had Michael Dunn step in at left guard for Joel Bitonio. And then, Michael got hurt and a guy named Blake, that I introduced myself to literally in the locker room before the game, stepped up in the fourth quarter."

Great point, @Arlcatsfan .

@CoralSpringsCat and gcg could learn a thing or two from you about desk research.

Big Bad Blake Hance is a gamer 🏈

Yes it is, especially when stated how it was in this thread. The fact that you don't get that says a whole lot about you.
It’s simply not rude to asses that a guy has no chance in the NFL. We don’t have to be delusional because a guy wears our color. It’s the same sort of assessment coaches make when deciding if a guy is good enough to get a scholarship or start.

You didn't just state your opinion that the guy has no chance to make the NFL, you ridiculed his decision to even try to pursue his dream of the NFL with your sarcastic post. This for a young man who just busted his rear end for 5 years trying to the best of his abilities to represent the University that you supposedly support. That's what makes you an ahole and the fact that you don't get that says a whole lot about you.

Read your comment. Maybe he has no chance, but leaving it alone would definitely be the high road. He didn’t leave NU on bad terms or transfer to Central Florida. It’s just not necessary.

"I want to thank Coach Fitz and Coach Anderson for everything they have done to develop me as a football player and as a man."

(I added the bold font, for emphasis)

"to Coach Braun and Coach O'Boyle, thank you for continuing to believe in me and for the opportunity to lead this football team."

Wrather at the very least is taking an opportunity to give Schill and Gragg the finger on his way out.

I think a few people must have missed that.

I have no idea what you are trying to say.
