I just got off the phone with four-star safety Collin Wilder, who visited NU over the weekend with Katy (Texas) teammates Travis Whillock and Paddy Fisher. He says that their dream is for all three of them to play together in college and NU is thus far the only school to offer all three of them. Fisher and Whillock have been offered by Kansas, and Wilder and Whillock have been offered by Houston, but NU has offered them all. That's going to loom VERY large because, as he put it, "those guys are like my brothers." How about that? A potential three-way package deal and from a powerhouse like Katy. That would be a great first step to building a pipeline.

A couple notes on Wilder:

- He's still committed to Texas Tech but is checking out his other options right now. He's visited nearby Houston several times and will go to Duke soon. He said several times that his situation is "complicated." He was offered by Tech as a freshman and committed last June, but he is the only one of the three that got an offer from the Red Raiders.

- He rated his visit a 9 on a scale of 1-10, only because of the wind chill. "That takes a point away," he said. He loved Chicago, he loved NU's campus and he loved what Fitz had to say. While he would love to stay close to home, he is more than willing to go away from home for opportunities like NU and Duke. Academics is very important to this kid, who has a 3.7-3.8 GPA.

Look for a story soon....
