Three-star athlete Jaylan Franklin had an overnight visit to Northwestern last night. You might remember this kid: he was initially recruited as a superback and his impending visit (which never happened) inspired Brian Kaiser to commit. Well, he's a good enough player for NU to pursue as an OLB -- and I think that's a better position for him, anyway.
He says that Northwestern was his leader. But Notre Dame, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Penn State are also in the mix. MSU has already offered, he visited ND right before coming to NU, and he thinks that Wisconsin and Penn State are very close to offering. He says he will make his commitment on the day of his opener at Gibraltar (Mich.) Carson. But you know how that goes...NU is only looking for two OLBs, so the numbers game could force him to accelerate his timetable.
