It seemed to my untrained eye that Ohio State Blitz 50% of the time or so when we drop back to pass. Conversely I don't recall any blitzing on our part. I'm sure there was a defensive philosophical reason for that protecting I would guess against their excellent wide receivers, but I'm not sure it worked very well. Seems to me their quarterback had all day to throw in a few blisses would have been beneficial.

Easy to blitz when your CBs are better than the WRs.

Understand NU not blitzing very much, trying to keep their receivers in check. However, how do you counter a blitzing team? Screen passes would be one solution. I only saw one screen pass all afternoon. Disappointing.

The one that would have been a TD if the blitzer hadn't knocked it down? Good play call. I think that was the drive where NU still scored.

Lots of little things in that game that certainly could have made the final score closer....OSU had to make some great catches, bad snaps by us in crucial situations....Lausch would have scored on that little qb screen....handing them 7points on the blocked punt. Sounds funny to say that I thought we didnt look bad even though we got beat 31-7

I think we scored a TD on the missed QB screen drive anyway. If we didn’t give up a free TD before halftime and kicked a couple FGs instead of having to go for it on 4th then very, maybe it’s more like 24-13. It seemed close because we controlled almost the entire first 1/3 of the game clock, it was going perfectly until the fumbled 3rd down snap which led to a fumbled punt snap and their free TD.

They also actually have an OL while it is hard to say that we do. Plus we have a QB that is just learning his way so there is a reason to try to make him rush his throws
