Calm Thorson down! Get him out of there for a while.

Yep, we need to get Thorson out and calmed down before he costs us the game. His fumble just allowed Ball State to go ahead, 10-7, just before half. Yikes!

Benching him sends a far worse message. It's also GRIND out a win.

QBs get pulled all the time in college. I think its worth a try. You then let him start the next game.

poor decision on that pass
I am screaming at the radio to take him out. Oliver is the guy who needs to come in. Look we need a guy who can complete throws. Alviti is not that guy as he is clearly the worst thrower we have. We need to just make simple throws and pound the rock. This is an awful defense we are facing tonight. The other thing is Shuler needs to be replaced, he's dropped to long to passes this year and last that should have been tds. He's also not the answer at punt returner as he is just vanilla. The other thing is that Vault should not be at back when Jackson is good to play. Come on McCall!

You have to let the coaches coach. They know the players and they know the adjustments much better than we do. Kid looked calmed down on that drive. Better protection from the OL, more time, allowed him to make better decisions and the receivers were catching the ball.

Barnett just said the Fitz has to get them thinking that the 1st half is the second half. Nice drive. Why didn't that happen in the first half? Let's see how the defense responds.

Ah,good to see all of the usual suspects exhibit their usual lack of football knowledge in this thread... Put in the second stringer! The third stringer! They're always better than the first stringer! Please show no patience at all as a coach and yank the guy who won the job at the first opportunity! Lol wut?

Wrassler is a hopeless case, but the rest of you should really think before you type....

+1 Thanks for saying it Mike. Although as a comedic read after the game, it has entertainment value.

Re-reading this late PM pacific, you all sound like such d...bags. Face it, CT is in until he gets hurt. Support him or don't watch until next year. Now, must figure who else to "ignore"

Agree...get on the CT train or park yourselves at the station. He's going to make mistakes...it's only his fourth college game of his career...and yet the coaches still believe in him over the rest of the bench. He needs playing time to improve. You don't take him out unless we're up by 30 or he goes down with injury.

Name-calling against your fellow purple faithful... That's the way to build solidarity. I admit that my frustration at halftime led me to join the bench-Thorson brigade, and I was wrong. OK? I had visions of the second game of the '95 season (fourth quarter rally by Miami of Ohio giving them the win one week after beating Notre Dame) dancing in my head. A MAC team doing just enough to beat us. They didn't, and I'm very gratified.

I don't think it was name calling. I think it was rightfully pointing out that the staff isn't going to pull Thorson for performance reasons unless it's absolutely 100% necessary, so calls for benching him are both pointless and meaningless.

The OP suggested that he be taken out to calm down. This essentially happened a half time. CT is not a china doll, taking him out for a series after couple of shake ups won't destroy his little ego IMO; in fact it may inspire all the QBs to be better prepared as it would present opportunities for the competition Fitz is always saying makes players better.

It's again time to put a sub in for Wrassler, he's starting to become unhinged. Again.
