Can guys with eligibility left who participate in Senior Day still return next year?

If they have eligibility, or is it truly over? The only reason I ask this is that InsideNU is reporting that Keith Watkins may still return for another year. Now, they could be spewing nonsense (they often are), but part of me is thinking that, if it is uncertain whether Watkins is going to obtain a medical redshirt, staff would err on the side of caution and have him participate in Senior Day since, if he is not granted the redshirt, he would miss out on that special day.

Has there ever been a case where a Senior Day participant returned the following year?
