Chase declares for draft

SO this post got me thinking. When they added the year of covid eligibility, did they increase the maximum roster size? I don't recall that they did. Assuming, half of the guys who are eligible for a 6th year take it that is reducing the number of slots available for new freshmen by about 10% (?) a year? Who does that hurt/ help in the long haul?
Athletes who are taking their COVID year don’t count against roster limits.

So for just last season, the players who were using their extra year did not count against the scholarship limit. This gave schools time to adjust to the ruling.

But beginning with the 2022-23 season, any player who is using their extra year will count toward the scholarship limit. So teams will be able to have just 13 players on scholarship.

Anyone who thinks the portal is bad for the ATHLETES in D1 has never been an athlete in D1.
Well Izzo only played DIII or whatever it was back then.

But Charles Barkley says he hates the transfer portal and he's obviously a former D1 superstar, although his comments always seem to indicate that he hates the transfer portal because of NIL.

You're probably right, with a few exceptions.
