Baring a complete collapse over the last 9 games, I think Chris Collins is a slam dunk for Big 10 COTY. If, as everyone now expects, NU makes the NCAA Tournament, can there be anyone else for National COTY? I don't think so!! Would be a sweet recognition for Chris.....

I'd give it to Fran McCaffery because if he weren't a basketball coach, he'd be an axe murderer.

When did you become a believer? Well into the season you expressed the belief that next year's the year, not this year. (Not criticizing; I was skeptical too for much of the year.)

Can you pinpoint the moment in the season that you were won over? For me I think it was playing four of our first five Big Ten games on the road, and winning three of them.

You are correct, I was a skeptic. I became a believer after the Iowa game. Now I'm all-in.

Collins must be the runaway favorite at this point, but a strong finish by Penn State could make a case for their coach. And yes, Maryland is leading the league (Penn State, Minnie, MSU and Iowa are also totally young) in outstanding freshman play.
