Chance to do the Chicago College Basketball double dip on Saturday. San Diego State with Coach Steve Fisher at Loyola at 3pm. Hop on the L (30 yards from Gentile Center) up to Central and catch the Cats and Depaul. Reminds me of a weird more difficult version of the old Chicago Stadium doubleheaders.My personal basketball Nirvana!!!! Plus a beer or two at Brunos before the game.

So I did the double dip......good day of basketball. Another chance on the 15th of January. LU plays at 3/NU at 6:30. The Ramblers surprised me and beat San Diego State. They have a nice group this year but they have been bit by the injury bug like NU, Lost their #1 recruit All=Stater Matt Chastin to an knee injury and just lost starting power forward Donte Ingram from Simeon also but not for the year, THey play a decent game of basketball. My interpretation of the NU second half is that they intentionally pulled the ball back out against the press rather than attacking and for lack of a better word their offense got discombobulated. Defense just looked like they were a" we've won" step slow and DP was" holy crap we need to do something now" step ahead and we committed a lot of fouls cuz of it. Weird to say but I think it is hard when you are 36 points up.
