Ok, maybe this only matters to me, but I liked this:

Martinelli made a buzzer-beating shot at the end of the first half to give NU a 38-37 edge at halftime. Then he hit a buzzer-beating shot at the end of the OT to give the Cats a 38-37 edge after halftime.

Nice indicator of the quality of our defense in the second half - we gave up the same number of points in 25 minutes after the break as we did in the first 20 minutes! Of course, one could make the same point about our offense... we are way too prone to having those 4-5 ish minute stretches where we just get stagnant and fail to get quality looks, and once we stretched the lead out to 10 that naturally happened again right on cue.

This team needs to play in the 50s and 60s to win. There’s just not enough consistency in the offense right now. So much 1x1 and isolation.

The two isolation guys are uniquely good, but there’s lots of standing once they get in position.

I’d like to see Leach with the ball just a little more.

Yeah, we really miss having a true point guard like Boo who could drive and take it to the hole or kick it out when the defense collapsed on him. Right now, we just don't have a guy who can consistently do that. Leach can do it a bit here and there, but no one else on the roster has the quickness off the dribble to make that happen. Our best offense is the Nick/Brooks two-man game, but you can't run that all the time. It is clear though that that is our go to offense late in games when every possession is of the utmost importance.

I would like to see us run some more offense with the ball at the top of the key and Martinelli cutting up to the free throw line from the baseline/corners. When he gets the ball there, he becomes a dual threat with his deadly floater as his primary option, but it puts him in a great spot to kick to an open shooter anywhere on the perimeter or a big man (typically Nicholson) near the basket. I feel there's been some success there and wouldn't mind seeing it a bit more.
