. . . just what it is that's happening here? I'm posting this at halftime, so we may yet come back to win this game. I'm not smart enough to articulate it, but something's just missing . . . watching our guys, it just doesn't feel like as strong a team as we watched all last season, though on paper it doesn't seem a stretch to say that we're better, more talented (or should be, anyway) than last season's memorable squad. It hardly seems possible that the loss Sanjay and Tap so noticeably outweighs the theoretical improvement of a half dozen other key players plus the "addition" of Falzon, not to mention Gaines. The team just seems disjointed, out of whack . . . 'da hell's happening here? Anyone?

Still reading articles about themselves. No worries bc all that will be written this year is how they are the biggest disappointment in NU hoops history.

Cold Lindsey is the story of this game. If he were making shots (and he's a had plenty of good looks), this is a different game. Also, our bench is again a no-show, no-score, as the case may be. Kudos to this group for breaking the NCAA jinx, but this is looking like a cold dose of reality. They just aren't that good. Caught lightening in a bottle last year. I just hope we can regroup Friday night or it's going to be a really long fall from grace.

Lindsey is lazy! Gave up a bunch of layups!

(Sigh.) I don't know if this is another experiment, a personal inside joke or just a very unhealthy obsession. But please, just give the Ash thing a rest for a while. I can promise you that people around here are not in the mood.
I haven’t posted at all lately because I’m not interested in the little remarks made on the board, but I will this time. I think the problem here is we have a couple of guys in the rotation who cannot play man to man. I went to the Sacred Heart game the other night and everyone around me said the same thing. Switch up the defenses a little bit. Play a zone or a a version of it at times during the game.

I’m not saying play zone in the last seven seconds but you had yourself in a position there where Falzon is on the floor and he can not play man to man. Take away the right side or inside. Force you man to the left or outside a simple Bobby Knight rule and you win the game. If they win in that situation it’s only by a prayer.

All the fouls don’t help, and give credit to our opponents...but so far this year it seems like we are letting every team have their way with us in the paint. It’s painful to watch but has to be killing the players and coaches.
