I’m not one who believes that you can never call a foul in the last three seconds, but I don’t think most officials call that foul on the jumper, period. He didn’t blow his whistle until after the shot missed, which I just hate.

(Creighton knocked the ball out of bounds, so the timing didn’t matter.)

I disagree (of course). The replay(s) clearly showed a grab and push while the shooter was in the air. It was the right call. Aztecs in the Final Four!

I tend to agree.

Didn’t impede the shooter or alter the shot with the contact. Ref saw the SDSU player fall on his landing and that’s what triggered the call. Best to swallow the whistle there.

Aztecs defense got going in the second half and Creighton just couldn’t hit from deep. The SDSU big with the unexpected mid range jumper to put them over the top.

Phenomenal game.

I disagree on that one. I understand that it really depends if the hand down low is just there, or if it actually is exerting force that pushed the offensive player away. Which, in that case, was very hard to figure out even in replays. The player did go wide left, but that could be seen as theatrical.

The point is that if you are pushed, even a little, your chances of making that shot go down to near zero.

Allow pushing if the offensive player comes directly at you, like when guys are posting up and backing up. Don't allow it from the sides.

The defensive player didn't just push him. He also seemed to have a handful of jersey. Unless you've just decided to swallow the whistle, that is a foul.

The offensive player had earned the right to a clean shot...he had gotten the corner ahead of the defensive player...and then the defensive player reached, and then clearly closed his hand plus I believe the official had a real good look and angle...It was a foul.
When there is inconsistency I believe it is usually due to how fast the action is and the the official does not get to see a clean look...need to go back to calling fouls when a player reaches outside their space whether you can see contact or not.

Both teams were beating the crap out of each other the entire game. Did not like that call. Let them settle it in overtime.
