NU Ladies are in the tournament at the Long Cove Club on Hilton Head Island. The greens are in great shape but relatively hard Winter has left rough and fairways still dormant
Tournament will be aired Monday-Wednesday March 3-5 on the Golf Channel

Last year NU collapsed on the back nine blowing a 7 stroke lead
Field includes 12 of top 16 teams in country. These young ladies can really play
For those in the area, admission/ parking is free. I ride my bicycle and can get around the course conveniently on the cart paths

Darius Rucker performed a great concert tonight for the teams and Long Cove
Members.
Weather will be cold tomorrow and rain on Wednesday

Lady golfers torched the front nine with a best in field team score of -2. Leader after round 1 Arkansas was next best at +1. But it appears they teed off first on the back nine and posted a bunch of big numbers on their way to a tournament worst +16.

Doc ... nice to see the girls make a strong 2nd nine comeback. Going from worst to first. Is the back side significantly more difficult? Looks like most of the teams scored better on the front, but their disparity was nowhere near what the Lady Cats posted.

NU played the back nine first yesterday.# 11 a short par 4 traditionally is the hardest hole, because of large trees that require a fade or draw to hit the green but it is still HCP 10. There is only one par 5 on the back with water hazards in play on 5 holes , so there are opportunities for big numbers

I am equally adept at bad numbers on both nines. Long Cove is a great course to play regularly-generous fairways, large greens, great conditions but frustratingly difficult to score on-3 putts are common and one errant shot can ruin the day

Generally, low handicappers find Long Cove harder than Harbour Towm , whereas high handicappers find LC easier than HT because of HT's narrower corridors

Ladies finish tied for 6th with Texas. Not bad after standing 13th on day one.
