Embarrassing performance

I would agree with this post if, in fact, those 18-22 year old kids were compensated for the efforts that lead a bunch of grown men to sit in front of a computer screen and discuss their effort.

That's the world of Big Ten basketball. They signed up for this.

And also they are compensated in the form of a $250,000+ education, which is another argument in and of itself.

Collins mentioned in the postgame presser that BMac in particular was tired in the second half, but that some players did get some rest (Law in particular with the foul trouble) which may help as no one on Indiana got much rest tonight in an OT game.
Law really needs the rest. He has been fighting through screens every game and with the schedule and him being on the floor around 36-40 minutes a game, he just did not have any legs left. Probably takes one day just to recover and then only having one day to get ready for the next game tied with classes. They had nothing left. Could see it in their recovery on shooters and on cuts. Hopefully this stretch of 3 days between games allows them to recover

If we beat Michigan and win a BTT game, we are a lock, even if we don't beat Indiana. Michigan's ratings by all measures are just too high.

Agreed. Some combo of 11 will clinch, but 10 has an outside shot too. I think Styre put it best:

...wins including BTT games:

2+ wins: in
1 win, if it's Purdue: bubble/in
1 win, if it's not: bubble/out
0 wins: out

Because we haven't played back to back games as badly as we played at Illinois all season? In fact, it is rare that we have played at a level that was bad as this game in ANY game this season. Scottie will have another game under his belt, and I would be shocked if there were not a rebound in our performance. Don't know if it will be enough to win (Indiana is looking at 13th place if they lose this game, so you have to expect they will make a strong effort to avoid that indignity), but I suspect a better effort from us.

From your mouth to the basketball gods' ears, mikewebb.

My concern is what the Illinois games demonstrate: This bunch against quick, athletic teams are bad match-ups.

Which, unfortunately, are most good basketball teams.

Possible but also maybe the Indiana players are tired of Crean and this is a way to insure that they get rid of him.

Saw a tweet that we averaged less than 2 passes per possession in the 2nd half against Illinois. Hopefully Collins can address this lack of ball movement.

Agree RB.

Agree RB. Think they usually use at least 2 passes to get over half court.

Indiana scoring D is the second worst in the BIG, so we should average far more that. They do turn over the ball a lot (dead last in turnover margin, and it is not close) so if we are close to two, it will be for a good reason; we will have had so many live ball turnover possession that lead to 0 and 1 pass run outs that this stat will end up being meaningless.
