It must be a big game -- Nicole Auerbach is in the house. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it will be a full house, though it could be a late-arriving crowd.

My biggest concern tonight: fatigue. We'll see if NU can bounce back after such a big, emotional win just three nights ago.

Interesting that Taphorn got the start tonight.

Stop me if you've heard this before: Northwestern is off to another tough start, shooting-wise, hitting just 2 of its first 9 shots. Maryland isn't much better at 3 for 10.

Just like at the start of the Wiskey game, our shots are missing short. Need to get going here.

Our shooting is terrible. D is keeping us in the game. 18-9 at the 8 minute mark. We are missing wide opens. I missed what got Pardon that foul on the dunk.

We're at the 8:15 mark and NU has five blocks and three baskets. That's not a good stat. Cats are shooting 18% from the floor (3-17).

As good as they were against UW, they're just stinking up the court today. Too tight?

Brown is crazy making. I can see his talent, but man he just tries too hard and fast.

Can some high IQ person explain this Melo drives play to me? Maybe I need instant replay slomo, but it seems like the play involves MD's center to clear Pardon out with a body shove and and arm grab. It looks like a fool to me, but the two times they've run that exact play no call.

Well at least they're only down 10 at half after playing so poorly and having McIntosh in foul trouble. They're going to have to play much better to make this a game.

We really need Scottie back. Hopefully Rutgers. This season may slip from our grasp if we are constantly playing with hand tied behind our back!!
