It looks like the powers-that-be at NU are willing to tolerate a floor of 4-7 or so and a ceiling of 7-5 and a Pinstripe Bowl, with an occasional 8-4 and a Gator Bowl, so long as that B1G cash keeps rolling in. Not bad, in truth…

What about 3-9 for two of the last 3 years, and likely 2-10 forthcoming?. Will that get some action from said powers-that-be?

Also I presume you mean 4-8, not 4-7

Could be reality. We have a tough row to hoe to get to 4-7 right now. Still hoping for 6-6.

Difficult to say what the NU administration will tolerate given a regime change this year. New president coming from the University of Oregon so it's not difficult to see him and Gragg being less loyal to Collins/Fitz in the long run without reasonable results.

Generally can't be mad having Oregon president coming in at least from an athletics perspective - knows what it means to have a winning program that turns heads. Maybe we'll be a Nike school by december?

We haven’t gone 4-7 since 2001.

I highly doubt things will stay static if we go 3-9 again.

I will say this: if we were to go 3-9 again and see no tangible changes...and by tangible I mean either assistant coaching changes or an all-out Mel Tucker-level raid on the portal, I would need to turn down my fan-dom for the sake of my own sanity.

It was already a struggle getting my friends to renew their season tickets this year. Not fun waking people up earlier than they get up for work on a weekday to drag them to a morning game where we were "very worried" we would lose to SIU.

These are all of Fitz's coaches and all of his recruits. He's got a crown jewel training facility, stadium reno plans on the books and the support of his administration, and by his own declaration he sees our admissions restrictions as an asset rather than a barrier (which we all know is BS, but don't say it if you don't mean it buddy...) - he has as close to an ideal situation as a head coach could want.
