JK, but he's now a better player than he was 24 hours ago when he was a 3 star, right?

I undertand the star debate and the imperfection of the data behind stars but when one of our guys gets upgraded, I think it would be nice to just say congratulations. I'm sure he has worked really hard and now he is getting some recognition.
Regardless of how you think, other recruits will look at the quality of this class based on stars and be influenced, wanting to join a strong class.

Congrats Roderick!
Go Cats!

Perhaps he's a better player than he was the last time Rivals rated him. Perhaps Rivals should institute up to the minute ratings.

I'm with Deeringfish on this one. Whatever you think of the star system, this young man has worked hard and seeing an unbiased source recognize his abilities and hard work is a strong positive for which he should be congratulated.

But it raises his profile higher on the poacherscope. So, the coaches need to watch out for Harbaugh, Meyer, and the entire SEC.

I must be dense because I cannot find any change in ratings to NU commits. What are you talking about?
Earlier today The commitment list showed Campbell as a four star and 5.8. It now again shows him as three-star and 5.7. Don't know what is going on

I'm not talking about what you wrote because I know it's in jest, but I never understood why people on this board get so upset when a player was upgraded to a 4 star. Yes, the player is the same player when he moved up to 4 stars and is the same player when that was switched back to 3 stars. No he will not be better or worse next year based on stars.

But Roderick Campbell did receive a compliment whether a real one or a glitch. Let's take a similar scenario. Someone walks up to your kid and says, "Great game today. You're really athletic. Here's a gold star." Would your first response be "Whatever, it's not like your compliment and gold star sticker means that he'll play better next week!"

So let's just be happy that Roderick and all our recruits are going to be a Cats. If someone thinks that he's a 4 star, that's great.

OK< That is weird. ...LOU

Rivals is just completing their latest evaluation. The Rivals250 comes out tomorrow, so we should find out then if he was rated a four-star. My guess is that someone went in and changed him to a four-star and inadvertently displayed it early.

We'll find out soon enough.

So it is a 4 star, #239 in the nation. Judging strictly on stars, one would have to be impressed with how Fitz has kept up the star ratings given two subpar seasons. And it looks like there are still a bunch of A listers that have us towards their top. Gotta give Fitz credit on this but as we know, the real test is on the field. Is it the talent or the coaching? Oddly, Walker did terrible recruiting DB's and often decided to recruit athletes and raw talent and stick them at CB [Ward, Backes, and even Peterman for a small time] but he could recruit solid OL and develop them into NFL talent. Fitz seems like the opposite. Same with WR's. Walker recruited excellent ones, albeit not on the star radar, but Fitz has struggled with that. Both have done a fine job recruiting QB's and RB's.
