I work with a guy who went to Miami OH, who is trying to get into college football. He came with me to the game tonight...and the win went a long way to indulge his visions of grandeur of seeing his Redhawks play in the Quick Lane Bowl this December.
Anyway, if you recall, we took a knee with 25 seconds left in the first half. I explained to my friend that Fitz/clock management is a sore spot amongst our fans (including me), because 25 seconds is reasonably enough time to get down the field against a middling MAC team at least into field goal range (yes, I also acknowledged the possibility of a catastrophic turnover).
We got the ball back on the final drive with 19 seconds left in the 4th quarter, and my friend asked, "there's less time on the clock now than there was at the end of the first half, so why aren't you just taking a knee again?"
I wish I would've had the presence of mind to record video of him asking that question so I could email it to Fitz and demand his answer.
