Tennis, Softball and Lax all advance to the next round of the postseason. Let's hope this roll continues tomorrow, and that Mens Tennis joins them in extending the season.

Great post. Softball has really stepped on the gas, 16-5 in its last 21 games, though only 1 game above .500 for the season.

Lax was fortunate to make the NCAAs. With ND next, I feel that the Cats can win that one, too. Maybe frosh Leighton Yenor is the real deal who just had a slow start. Three more goals for her.

Not looking so great for ladies' tennis, having to face #3. The program has hit a plateau and maybe even declined in recent years. Still strong but not as mighty since Audra Cohen transferred a decade ago. That squad was stacked and had a chance to win it all before Cohen departed. One can only imagine the momentum that would have been in the Cats' favor with an NCAA title in the back pocket. Recruiting has never seemed quite as good since then.

Nice historical perspective. Softball has slid a bunch as well since making the WCWS 10 years ago, and being an inning or two from winning the title. We're all familiar with the lacrosse story. Hope NU gets another moment in the sun with these sports, if not this year.

But women's golf is better than ever
