We are 7-4. Remaining we host Md Rutty Michy and Purdy, and play at Wiscy Indy and Illy... put down your guesses!
Well out of 25 votes so far, I'm going to group this into 3 buckets. We are 7-4. Remaining we host Md Rutty Michy and Purdy, and play at Wiscy Indy and Illy... put down your guesses!
I voted 10-8. Think3 more wins and NU goes "Dancing", especially if they add a couple of BTT wins.Well out of 25 votes so far, I'm going to group this into 3 buckets.
Bucket 1: 9 wins or worse -- 4 votes (16%)
Bucket 2: 10-8 -- 11 votes (44%)
Bucket 3: 11 wins or more -- 10 votes (40%)
So 16% of people think we will definitely miss. 44% think we will be on the bubble at 10-8, which I personally think likely gets us in but I think we can all agree would be a very nervous Sunday, and possibly land us in the play in round. And 40% think we will make it solidly.
That seems like a pretty fair distribution to me. I was personally at 11-7, and if I had to pick games I'd say Rutgers Michigan Maryland at home, with Illinois on the road. But I think @Indy and home Purdue are very winnable too. Also not entirely writing Wiscy off, I think they are due to drop one of these close games.
But... we'll see, really hoping we can turn this around. Thanks all for participating in the poll!
As I said, I think that 3 more wins in conference and at least one in the BTT, sends the Cats "Dancing". Does the committee ot of weight on conference tournament wins?Com' on, boys!! Let's see some consistency!! Let's see how those early-season predictions stand up to the last seven games!!
(Or should we bask in the glow of those brave souls who "go out on a limb" with grand prognostications 24 games into a season?)
I'll stand by a condensed version of my 11/14 prediction (generally word for word). Switch out my completely incorrect prediction of the need for a high-RPI win at OSU for one against Purdue or Maryland, and the spirit of that one big win is generally spot on.
The Lindsey statement is also especially applicable to the last seven games,
Anyhow, I hope I'm wrong about 10-8.
... Optimistically, I'm looking at 21-10 (11-7). And I think that's a stretch when we're banking on four non-starters from last year.
... 20-11 (10-8) and an NIT.
... Even if they do reach 10 wins, I think they need to win AT LEAST one (and maybe two) against OSU, Michigan and others. For the tournament, they're going to need a few more quality wins besides the two non-conf wins.
... Get what you need from Brown or Lindsey as well as Pardon, and I think this is a different story.
