Winning means time is running out, and handing off to Justin Jackson on 3rd and 6 and he gets 9. He's done this multiple times now, it's time we really gave him props as a player who solidifies victories.

Vault had a key run on third down as well. We've come a long way in the RB dept. Nice to have some depth back there...we are literally 4-5 backs deep.

Was just thinking it is so great to hav a player like long to bring his kick ass skills and attitude to both the offense and special teams. Was remembering that he played some lb or safety in high school. Definitely a physical presence. Too bad malin jones transferred. Wonder what ever happended to him.

Jackson is the real deal, but we do have some depth and need to start using it. We've got games against three solid defenses (Minny, Iowa and Michigan) coming up, not to mention Wisky and Penn State later on. Jackson's going to take a helluva pounding if he's getting 30 or more carries a game. Michigan looked very solid against BYU, and their loss to Utah doesn't look too bad the way Utah is handing it to Oregon today.

One thing that I have seen more this year already than recent years is that we have had a long time-eating drive either at or toward the end of the 4th quarter to cement a win. While we did not end in victory formation this time, we still were able to sustain a drive when the defense knew we were going to run right at them.

For those of you who were there, did you hear the student section repeating in unison, "Justin Jackson the ball carrier" every time after the announcer said it. It was pretty funny.

One of the noob writers on Inside NU has been all over Jackson for his poor/erratic play during the Duke win.

Yeah, I guess the Duke defenders crashing into the backfield for much of the 1st half (didn't respect the passing game) had nothing to do w/ it.

He broke that run for 60 yards, and then got the carry on the very next play! Can't recall seeing another RB do that-- they always pull them for a blow after big runs....

Yeah, I liked that. They also chanted something like "All American".

The student section, though arriving late was ever present throughout the game with noise, and chants, and other activities. Nice to see that happening. Now, if they can set their alarm clocks a bit earlier...

Loved it. My crew and I have been laughing at the overemphasized "Jacob Schmidt/insert back here the ball carrier" PA call for years. Got a kick out of the students making a thing out of it. It was a large, loud student crowd. Bodes well for conference play next week.

The late arriving students probably had something to do with the administration cancelling the student tailgate due to disagreement over policies. The kids probably had their tailgates on campus and then headed over to the game.

Is it the same nincompoop that gave him an "A-" because he had only 3.8 YPC aside from the long run. What a dipsh1t. Has no idea. We would arguably be 1-3 without this kid. He's a tank

It's the same nincompoop who posted prior to the Duke game that one of the key battles was JJ vs. Duke's front 7 (nevermind that they play a 4-2-5), which is a losing battle.

JJ needs to get some help from the O-line (as well as from Thorson and the passing game).

For all the talk about LSU's Fournette (who is a stud RB), he had over 170 yds rushing PRIOR to contact against the 'Cuse.

After rewatching the game it's amazing how tough he ran in the 4th Q. It was cool to see his jersey numbers all halfway falling off at the end of the game. He is one tough kid.

That is the kind of thing that traditions are born of. Someone should make Tee shirts.

How about Justin Credible

I like this, not just because it's a good pun, but if you take his "last name" all by itself, it seems to imply "workmanlike" and "dependable" - it has a great double meaning.

I really like this. Presuming we are successful, how irritating would it be for an opposing team to hear that like 9 times in the 4th quarter. It would be like "Mr. Referee, move those chains for another first down...ARMY"
