@gocatsgo2003 any smoke here??
The only reason being so kids can get enrolled by second semester, otherwise they have to stay at their school until summer and are essentially a “lame duck” and may not be able to practice or even have access to facilities?Is there anything dumber than having the transfer portal open before the season is over?? My god, college football really is a mess.
Another reason why we need to do away with the farce that these are student athletes. Let's just turn this into a minor league system and be done with it. If the schools want to stay associated with it all, then they need to make some adjustments.The only reason being so kids can get enrolled by second semester, otherwise they have to stay at their school until summer and are essentially a “lame duck” and may not be able to practice or even have access to facilities?
Except at quarter system schools like NU where they could still arrive by spring practice! I bet if SEC schools were on the quarter system we’d still have a later portal window.
He'd fit better if his name were Parabola.Pribula reminds me of Persa.
He's quite a bit bigger, but like Persa a true dual threat. He will command a lot of money, however, and I can't imagine that we will land him. I think he will go to a team that has a much better chance of being in the playoffsPribula reminds me of Persa.
I’ve liked him since we recruited him in HS but I think you are overestimating the caliber of demand he will have. Contenders for college football playoff don’t go after a guy who has been a career backup.He's quite a bit bigger, but like Persa a true dual threat. "who ends up in Evanston" is an interesting way to put this. "Ends up" doesn't sound as though there is the serious and proactive approach to signing the QB that will be critical to a winning season next year and Braun keeping his job, which I very much hope he does.Yes, and the dominoes are starting to fall. The SEC is filling up fast. Will be curious to see where he ends up and who ends up in Evanston.
It would not be the end of at least bowl eligible hopes if we didn’t pick up a starting QB in the portal. It will, however, if we don’t get at least one WR and a couple starting quality OL. When Lausch had all WR healthy, and time from the OL, he was “good enough.” He was even slicing up OSU for 1.5 quarters."who ends up in Evanston" is an interesting way to put this. We'll see, but I think he'll land someplace where he believes he can win a lot of games. I'd love to have him at NU. but I don't think that is likely. He bailed out PSU several times this season at critical time in closely contested games, and Franklin is incensed that he will not be available to play in the playoff game.I’ve liked him since we recruited him in HS but I think you are overestimating the caliber of demand he will have. Sounds like he will be more of a tier above NU but below perennial top 10. Who is Indiana’s QB next year? Someplace like that maybe. Graduating from Penn State does not "prove he has academic chops". Penn State can get any football player admitted who has the minimum qualifications, and it has degree programs available that are not particularly demanding. Also, it's not one of the higher rated schools in the Big Ten.NU may appeal to Pribula. He got his degree from Penn State, so he has academic chops. And the teams play at PSU next year. And auto-correct changes his name to ‘fibula’😎.
Don't disagree. However, a QB through the portal who can at least increase the competition to a higher level , I believe is critical.It would not be the end of at least bowl eligible hopes if we didn’t pick up a starting QB in the portal. It will, however, if we don’t get at least one WR and a couple starting quality oh well OL. None the less, I pay my dues and get the real scoop which doesn't tell the story of where we are with a good QB through the portal.Not at all. You spend too much time on the free board.
If a team figures that they got a shot at CFP, then they can spend a lot, Harder to to when the goal is just to get to respectable because the other pieces are not there"who ends up in Evanston" is an interesting way to put this.
