How long will Olah be out?

What have we done to deserve so much misery? We're good people, aren't we?

Is your source reliable? Haven't heard anywhere near March, and JVZ had the same injury and missed 2 weeks.
I think CCF is looking at this through dark black glasses. The consensus seems to be 2-3 weeks, hope so.

I have a friend who is friends with Taphorn. As soon as I heard the news I shot him a text. I obviously hope it's 2-3 weeks, and he didn't look too bad yesterday on the sideline FWIW, but this is just what I was told. I can show screen shots if you'd like

Collins said clearly in the post game presser that it was a stress reaction....and indicated a fracture (broken bone) was ruled out.

It seems like NU sports medicine is all over "stress reactions" given the number of boots popping up in Evanston the last few years. it's great if a player can miss three weeks and save his or her year.

Joey Meyer told me they're hoping 3 weeks.
I heard 2-3. Problem is that other than MD, a bunch of early games were pretty winnable with a full team. Without Olah, who knows. I think Pardon will be a player but we will likely miss some of the finer points of Olah's game.

And I talked to Olah and others last night. Suggested to him that if he was trying to make a fashion statement that the boot was not a good look for him. That and the broken tooth. Sounded a lot more like 2-3 weeks. Unfortunately, we have a lot of winnable games during that time that will be a lot more challenging with him out. Neb, MN, even OSU and WIS and PSU that with a full team we could take but without Olah, who knows.

Yeah agreed on this- when he said "stress reaction" I got more optimistic. So if healing goes well he could be back in a few weeks. Let's cross our fingers...

Agree with whoever said that he looked pretty mobile on the sideline. The way he was jumping up to cheer and congratulate teammates didn't look like a season ending injury to me, though I'm no doctor.

the problem with stress fractures is that they are easy to re-injure, especially if you rush a return. for normal people a return to full activity is 6-8 weeks. 2-3 is an accelerated timeline, and doable, but makes re-injury a likelihood

The refer to is as something else than a fracture. Stress reaction I think. Don't know the difference but it was the same thing they said about JVZ
