TV coverage of the Cats this year looks like a nightmare. First Rutgers on CBS and then Duke on ACCN.
Not sure how to get either one of these. What are people doing?

Yeah, that's the problem. We got rid of Dish and don't get CBS anymore. It seems the Rutgers game will be on the main CBS network.
What has happened to BTN?The Iowa game will be a Peacock exclusive. If you don't subscribe to Peacock you are out of luck.
However, you have to subscribe to Spectrum.I get every sports network imaginable o Spectrum, so should be able to watch every game without a problem,
Of course, however that goes without saying, and I'm happy because I watch every NU game and every other Big Ten game whenever I wish to do. Some of the NU games I watch live after tailgating in the West Lot. Life is good! However, you have to subscribe to Spectrum.
Why would CBS be a problem? As far as ACCN not sureTV coverage of the Cats this year looks like a nightmare. First Rutgers on CBS and then Duke on ACCN.

OK. It looks like Peacock is easy. Either $6.00 or $12.00 (No Ads) per month and you can quit anytime. The Iowa game will be a Peacock exclusive. If you don't subscribe to Peacock you are out of luck.
Yes, Peacock isn't a streaming service. It's a channel. Also contains the WWE network, which for some of us who never left their 80s youth, is a blast.OK. It looks like Peacock is easy. Either $6.00 or $12.00 (No Ads) per month and you can quit anytime.
That is very cheap compared to all of the other streaming services, which are usually about $80, or more, per month. Am I missing something here?
You can watch local CBS on Paramount+ with Showtime. You can get a free trial the week of. Same goes for Peacock. If you have already tried these and no trial, just use a different email address.Yeah, that's the problem. We got rid of Dish and don't get CBS anymore.
So the question is what it the easiest way to get it without making a major commitment to a service that carries it. One that you can easily and inexpensively stop after the game.
And then there are the same questions and issues with ACCN and Peacock.

I looked at most of those and the best deal right now appears to be YouTubeTV.ACCN is tougher because you have to get a live TV streaming service that carries it. Hulu+ Live TV, FuboTV, Sling TV, DirecTV Stream, and Vidgo all carry it.
Free trial of FUBO then cancelYeah, that's the problem. We got rid of Dish and don't get CBS anymore.

I have had an IPTV thing for 4 years now. It is reliable 99%+ of the time. And it has like 12,000 streams. I have watched Olympic basketball on Iranian TV.ACCN is tougher because you have to get a live TV streaming service that carries it. Hulu+ Live TV, FuboTV, Sling TV, DirecTV Stream, and Vidgo all carry it.
Good to know. Thanks.YouTubeTV has been pretty good for me for the two prior seasons. I had a ridiculous DirecTV package prior, and I do think some of the overflow games fail to show up on YouTube TV that I had gotten previously. Still prefer YouTube TV for the better interface, particularly for DVR functions.
I've been using YouTubeTV for a few years now. I think it has been pretty good. As was mentioned before, the DVR feature is basically unlimited, so that's a plus. They occasionally get into contract disputes with channels and lose them from the lineup, but nothing really major... mostly some local cable stations. For example, here in CT, we used to get the RedSox and Yankees games, but YTV dropped both those channels. Also, I read somewhere the price may be increasing into the $70's soon, but I imagine that will be the trend for all streaming services.I looked at most of those and the best deal right now appears to be YouTubeTV.
Only $65/month for the first 3 months, which will cover the football season. They also include ACCN. You can cancel any time you want.
Any thoughts on YouTubeTV or reason to not use it.
I get it on my Spectrum sports package, which, in my opinion is well worth the money. There are almost no Power 5 football games that I can't get on Spectrum, By the way, Styre, I hope you're gearing up for your weekly report on dates, times and TV for all Big Ten games, which this old man finds to be very valuable!ACCN is tougher because you have to get a live TV streaming service that carries it. Still trying to understand Peacock and options for the Iowa game.Yes, Peacock isn't a streaming service. It's a channel. Also contains the WWE network, which for some of us who never left their 80s youth, is a blast.
Peacock is a stand alone service offered through an app. You do not need Hulu, Fubo, etc.Still trying to understand Peacock and options for the Iowa game.
If I am correct you first have to have a streaming service, such as Hulu, Fubo, etc., and pay for that. Then if that streaming service offers Peacock you may have to pay extra for it depending on what tier you want to watch.
The free Peacock tier does not include sports. To get sports you have to upgrade to either Premium for $5.99 per month, which includes extra advertising, or Premium Plus for $11.99 per month that does not include advertising.
With Premium Plus you will still see any network advertising that is part of the broadcast, but there will no extra ads inserted by Peacock.
Have I got all of that right?

...while yelling at kids to get off your lawn.pretty much...I have Firestick and have the free Peacock app but would have to pay to get the Peacock Premium. I imagine a large basement with small guys in white sirts with arm bands and green tinted visors with sharpened pencils chewing on cigars with sweat on their foreheads figuring and cyphering how to grind out the last penny from tv viewers while slick executives with marketing degrees work with glee to hire beautiful women to create beautiful scences to convince us that the 5.99 a month is really meaningless compared to the happiness it will buy us!!! I am going to go old school and listen to Dave Eanet on WGN on my old transistor radio while I change the oil in my car and sit in a folding lawn chair with some chips and a coke...GO CATS and wear my Rose Bowl sweatshirt.
Go to a bar that has it?Yeah, that's the problem. We got rid of Dish and don't get CBS anymore.

WTF? Talk about fan abuseThe Iowa game will be a Peacock exclusive. If you don't subscribe to Peacock you are out of luck.
Wish I could wear my Rose Bowl sweatshirt. After so many washings over the years it basically disintegrated. I still get chills thinking about walking back inside the stadium after a quick washroom break to see a sea of purple-clad fans filling the hallowed grounds, with Keith Jackson upstairs... gd it Musso was down!!!pretty much...I have Firestick and have the free Peacock app but would have to pay to get the Peacock Premium. Dofu sports app just have to make sure that you have a TV that can mirror it cheapest way in my opinion.Yeah, that's the problem. We got rid of Dish and don't get CBS anymore.

OK. That's the best explanation, yet. Thanks.Peacock is a stand alone service offered through an app. You do not need Hulu, Fubo, etc.
What you need is to have some way of installing an app. You will need something like a Firestick, Roku, Apple TV, or Chromecast device. Or, your TV's native software might allow installing Peacock.
You have the rest right. It's paid with or without ads and there does not seem to be a free trial period at the moment.
I get it on my Spectrum sports package, which, in my opinion is well worth the money. The only game I'm concerned about is Iowa, and that might cause me to return to one of my old sports bar haunts. Can't drink as much beer as I used to be able to handle though. 😂 Are you attending any home games? I'll be at the home opener and you are most welcome to stop by our tailgate in the West Lot if you'll be thereI am! Will be very interesting this year with all the new network deals.
I have DirecTV and I get practically everything on there so I can't weigh in on the pluses and minuses of the various streaming TV services.
YouTube TV is excellent. Software works great and is very intuitive. My only gripe is that it doesn’t carry the Tennis Channel.I looked at most of those and the best deal right now appears to be YouTubeTV.

Not sure this statement had ever been made in the history of mankind. 😆 Love it.I have had an IPTV thing for 4 years now. It is reliable 99%+ of the time. And it has like 12,000 streams. I have watched Olympic basketball on Iranian TV.
