Indiana fired Crean

I don't follow CBB like CFB either really, but the IU job opening up is really bad news for Illinois I'd guess, right?

Hey, only one coach can go to IU! It's obviously a better job than UI, but this might be a big year for coaches moving up, and Indiana's second choice (if we're that lucky) is more than okay with me!!

Yes. You guys are going to be so much better off when this all plays out. Whitman is going to make a very good hire in my opinion.

I thought Crean was a good coach for IU. Didn't they beat a bunch of the best programs in the country this year- Kansas, north carolina and Northwestern, to name a few? I see the IU basketball program a lot like Nebraska football. They used to be elite, but now, they are just above average. The person that takes the job will make a lot of money, but they are signing their own coaching death certificate. I don't think IU will see the marked improvement that they are looking for regardless to whom takes the hc job there. Alford imho, would be the best home run choice for them. I highly doubt that the Wichita St. coach will give up his patriarch job with the 3mil+ that he makes and the use of his own jet for recruiting trips. If anything, the Coke bros will up the ante and just give him anything else that he wants if he even considers leaving. Illinois is desperate now. No one wants to coach there. It is like taking the job to coach a 40 year old Jay Cutler. If anyone is friends with AD Whittman, the local junior college coach in Palatine is available if they want to pay him 5mil a year to coach in CUrb. (although it would probably take quite a bit of convincing).

Wouldn't say we're desperate at all, and I think you'll see that Monday or Tuesday (I'm sure you'll still find a way to trash the hire, because you're a biased fan who thinks with his or her emotions).
