Like most Cats' fans, I was appalled by the Indiana run at the end of the first half and crushed by the disorganization and poor play in the last minute of the game Saturday. Having said that, for long stretches of the game the Cats played their best ball since Lindsey fell ill (and I am including the Wisconsin game in that, particularly in light of how Wisconsin has played since). On offense, there was much better movement and spacing, and the ball often actually left BMac's hands. On defense, Indiana struggled to find gaps and open shots. While Michigan and Purdue present formidable challenges, I think there is a fair degree of hope that the Cats can win one or both of the games left, and may be at a real point of being back for the conference tournament.

Totally agree. I'm optimistic we win one of the next 2 and not have to talk about the bubble. But having said that, Vic Law has to step up on offense. This means getting him the ball in better spots more often and him making his shots.

Saw this on twitter today:

Since Jan. 22nd Vic Law is shooting 26.7% from the field; the lowest percentage of any D-1 player with at least 100 FG attempts

Law has looked a little burned out and it doesn't help that he has to chase the opponents top scorer all over the floor. Maybe assigning Lumpkin to the other teams top guy could get Law going. Also since Lumpkin isn't expected to score much, he can basically funnel all of his energy on the defensive end.

In reviewing tape, I am far more impressed by the Wisky game without Lindsey, both on offense and defense. Sure, they are in a tailspin now, but we were the ones who sent them there.

Remember the Wisky D is one of the best in the country, while Indiana is the second worst in the BIG, and we still managed only 62. We need to fix our offense, and fix it quickly.
