No, it has nothing to do with where he will end up, but it gives some insight into how Tigers fans looked at the situation.

What is interesting is that many feel Dabo Swinney started Kelly Bryant over HJ out of loyalty/seniority. If that's how HJ felt, I wonder if that means Duke and Purdue would have extra hurdles to overcome in getting over the idea that multiple year returning starters and seniors in Sindelar and Jones wouldn't be the favorites to retain the job upon his first year of eligibility. He may have all the confidence in the world that he could win, but I wonder if it wouldn't work heavily in our favour if this was part of what he felt he was dealing with and getting away from at Clemson.

Yes, the fact that he will be effectively guaranteed to start all 3 years here is a big advantage that only NU can honestly offer. And given his brother’s time at NU, there is a strong level of trust and familiarity with Fitz and the staff.

He would not be guaranteed but he would by far have the cleanest shot at NU compared to PU and DUKE

Agree, no guarantee but would be prohibitive favorite. If Hunter comes to NU, the first thing we will hear from Fitz is a glowing endorsement of Green, Smith, Marty and Whittaker. Fact is, you need more than one capable QB and not many of us really have a feel as to where the incumbents are in their development.

What is said in public and what is said in recruiting are typically very different things.
