Jalyn Patterson is a 6-1 190lb PG who was ranked as high as #33 among PG's out of HS (3-star overall). He redshirted this season (his 4th at LSU) unusually for reasons related to a coaching change.

He averaged 5.8 points, 3.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game last season and also averaged 5.8 points over the course of his career at LSU.

Statistically, his best season came as a freshman in 2014-15 when he posted career highs in points per game (6.8), field goal percentage (40.8), three-point percentage (37.3) and free-throw percentage (84.2).

Patterson sitting out next season will be handled the same way Elbert Robinson's departure was handled - with both players sitting out with the possibility of a transfer still existing.

He may be on paper the top PG still available as a grad transfer (Drexel's grad transfer candidate Tramaine Isabell is probably ranked nearly as high and is also available: http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/3136535/tramaine-isabell ).

Jalyn's offers out of HS include some academically decent-sounding schools (GA Tech, Minny, A&M). Perhaps he was a decent student in HS, but no idea how he may have done as a student at LSU. An intriguing prospect.

Sorry, doesn't look like he'd be much help. His HS accolades and offers mean nothing relative to his productivity at LSU.

Why on earth would you say that? Did you read the part that says:
"In his three years with LSU, The 6-foot-1, 176-pound point guard played in 90 games with 37 starts.
He averaged 5.8 points, 3.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game last season...".
That was in a major conference. He probably faced B1G-type competition both within his team (in practice and for playing time) as well as from their opponents.
Also remember the date. Do you suggest stronger potential grad transfer STILL available at that position?
Ah...can you please remind us how many major conference games and starts have the NU player projected to take most PG minutes this season? Off the top of my head I think is far fewer than 90-games with 37 starts...am I wrong?

He was a margin contributor on a 10 win team. Doubt he gets any more time than Ash on ours.
