On the Sugar Bowl broadcast, the crew just stated that Kirby Smart is trying to convince Fields - who has played 12 of 13 games but not today - to take a redshirt next season, his true sophomore season. That would allow Fromm to start next year, Fromm’s true junior season, and Fields would have three years if Fromm left after his junior year, or two years of Fromm stayed all four. Fromm is almost certainly a first-round pick.
