The first meeting from Evanston's Land Use Commission on the new Ryan Field is underway. Alex is a reporter I worked with at NU and has done a great job of following the story so far, he'll be live tweeting it tonight for Evanston RoundTable.

NU says demo planned to start Dec 2023 -- construction spring 2024 through Q3 2026.

This was a joke. Only two commissioners of like 8 or 9 were asking questions. Northwestern was constantly scrambling for answers mainly about parking, traffic flow after concerts, etc.

I used to park in the neighborhoods - street parking - for football and basketball games. There was always space within a mile for football and across Central for basketball.

Every development everywhere is met with ‘what about the traffic!?!?!’ There’s plenty of space, and the prospect of, what, a half-dozen more major events a year seems pretty minor. Oh well.

Lots of bored rich people around.
