You mean after he spent years lavishing praise on Fitz and NU and the saw a chance for a money grab? I’m shocked.
Hmm... so the "NU will collude with the aggrieved players against Fitzgerald" theory gains a little momentum?
Step 1. Get these players to remove Schill and the Board as defendants from their lawsuits. Most Important! DONE
Step 2. Get these players to testify under oath in their case against Northwestern, but enable them to grossly exaggerate their claims against Fitzgerald specifically.
Step 3. Settle with the players.
Step 4. Use the players' sworn (misleading? false?) testimony against Fitzgerald in his lawsuit against Northwestern.
Step 5. Pretend to have taken the high road.
Players be like "who's this gragg guy we're suing?"
In this whole clownish situation, that guy was king clown among clowns.
Ex-Northwestern ADs dropped from hazing suits
Former athletic director and current ACC commissioner Jim Phillips and university president Michael Schill are among a group of defendants who have been removed from the hazing lawsuits filed by former Northwestern athletes.
The dismissed lawsuits were likely settled quietly.
NU has been reaching out to former players for a while now for help in their case against Fitz. So, I will let you all think what you will. 😉
Either Fitz, Northwestern, or a 100 former players are lying. What do @GOUNUII and @No Chores and @thewildcat2011 think?

Lying about what? The original report said Fitz did not know about the “hazing.”

Quoting the Bible when discussing a legal matter? Ok guy. It’s not Fitz saying he didn’t know, it is the investigators who found no evidence he knew. He is going to get paid and hoolpefully result in Schill being let goFitz was lying. And he has been for years.

Did or do you still honestly believe that Northwestern’s investigators - whom they were paying - were going to find any wrongdoing on Northwestern University’s - or its most famous employee and alumni’s - behalf?

I think the Diaz case settled. I doubt the dismissal of certain defendants came from settlement. Was there any motion practice - I would expect it to come from there, and maybe following some deps.
Is the NU hazing scandal as evil as PSU’s? Of course not.
But is it still disgusting and an arguably stupider scandal? Yes. Fitz got paid tens of millions of dollars, got hundreds of millions for his facilities, and did a TERRIBLE JOB.
He deserved to get fired and should win NOTHING.
Fire them all. Schill and Gragg and the entire BoT for all I care. They are all dogshit.
Dumb dumb, there is not a bridge that goes from Brooklyn to NJ. The Brooklyn bridge connects Brooklyn with Manhattan. The George Washington bridge connects Manhattan and NJ. How this helps.
You people are insane. Paterno was told by his asst coach that another asst coach was raping a child. Instead of going to the police he went to school administrators. Multiple people went to jail, including the school president and VP.
When people start going to jail because of this hazing” scandal, then we can compare the 2.
FItz is going to walk away with a $100 million + settlement on this one and NU will 100% deserve it.

1) The whole hazing lawsuits is bullshit. This happened everywhere, at every level and is part of sports. It is/was/will always be a complete non-factor except for beta males who never competed in anything.
2) Fitz sucked 3 out of the last 4 years he was HC and was never going to evolve. It is a blessing this “incident” forced his dismissal. Braun is going to be fine and if he’s not we’re rich and will hire a new coach before the Taj Mahal Pat Ryan opens in 2027 or 2028. Fitz’s history with the program made him almost unfireable… except for a situation like this.

is it worth knowing that the Alpha and Beta wolf thing has been recognized as generally untrue and has not been used for decades?
Could still have fired him without incremental risk if NU actually followed their contractual obligations. They didn’t, which is why they’ll likely pay Fitz a lot of money.
Says the Freeh report. Patrrno is quoted in there saying he wasn’t sure the best way to handle what he was told by mcqueary. Dont let the facts get in the way of your narrative guy.
If it turns out that Fitz was informed of the more salacious acts and did nothing, I will change my tune. Or if anyone goes to jail. Not hiding my breath.

Fitz was never going to get fired, and also there was a long-standing culture of hazing as credibly reported by our own Louie Vaccher, and Fitz was fired after that culture came to light.
He never was going to get fired because of meatheads in our fanbase who thought he was a borderline God. He was an ok coach who peaked in 2018 (yes, 2020 was cool but clearly not sustainable). You can’t play games 13-10 and recruit the best. It’s boring and kids want flash.
It's unreal we have had the success we have had, I hope Jackson can do do great but he has zero above him
