Lawsuit update

It's unreal we have had the success we have had, I hope Jackson can do do great but he has zero above him

I should clarify… if Fitz sucked again in 2023, then I think there would have been a lot of pressure to make further staff changes at minimum. If Fitz sucked in 2023 and again refused to do much about it, then I think the heat on his seat would’ve started turning up in 2024.

Recruiting was looking up when Fitz was fired, plus the DC change had already happened. Another bad year likely would’ve cost at least Bajakian his job.

There would not have been another bad year. FItz with a full roster before defections would have won more than the 8 games we won last year.

Show me evidence of hazing. Show me!

What I have seen is the summary of an official report of vaguely described misdeeds. I have seen reporting of public testimony (not under oath) by parties with a clear interest in obtaining funds in response to their claims, supported (perhaps orchestrated) by attorneys with a history of securing such funds in similar means and with an incentive to open a new revenue stream for their legal practice. Most importantly, I have seen no other dismissals of players or coaches for hazing, even those who would have been the perpetrators, accomplices or closest affiliates on the University payroll. In fact, NU promoted one of these folks to be DC!

Only the firing of a head coach on the basis that he should have known about something that has not been clearly identified, confirmed and recognized — during an era marked by cancellation culture and an institutional preference for social justice rather than truth.

The whole affair is utterly baffling. It’s like a magic show. No one cares to find out how the trick works. Just make the rabbit disappear, move on to the next thing and minimize the dollar downside. Quecumque Sunt Avarus.

Bajakian still would’ve been there. Puts a cap on things without a solid QB.
They won 8 games last year with Bajakian, a depleted roster, a team in turmoil and a head coach that was still figuring out what he was supposed to do for at least the first half of the season. What they did have have was another transfer QB who gave the team a chance to win and a competent defensive coordinator who was not Jim O’Neil. I am confident FItz, without the turmoil that transpired, would have squeezed out 1-2 more wins out of that team.

Lol based on what? Braun actually let us go downfield with passing, for one.

I actually agree with @corbi296 on this one. Fitz in 2023 would’ve won 9 or 10 games (Rutgers, and either Neb or Iowa). He already had Braun as DC, and Bryant as a transfer QB along with Smith as DL coach. Braun deserves a lot of credit to prevent a complete meltdown, but change was necessary.

Why should we have expected a complete meltdown? The team gave every impression of being wholly united, despite how others attempted to characterize the context.

No. Braun made key changes last year that Fitz either could or would not.

Fitz was a bum for years.

All of that. And also we win the Iowa game for sure if Bryant plays and probably Nebraska. Nothing had to do with “coaching” in those games. It was injuries. (Yes, we can talk about NU not putting Porter in on the 1 or 2 yard line late in the game but that was on Bajakian and Fitz wouldn’t have overruled him either…)

I’m also on the team if folks skeptical Fitz would make the needed changes on offense to win games
The offense last year was the exact same offense that Bajakian ran the year before when FItz was there. There was nothing magical that happened schematically or play calling wise that changed. The only thing that changed was a veteran transfer QB who played well.
