The linebacker play on this team is an issue. Cats have a huge drop off at linebacker from last year. The departure of Paddy and Blake Gallagher is really showing on the field.
McIntyre is ok (not great), the rest are substandard. Brice Gallagher is slow and not in the same league as his older brother in terms of tackling and toughness. Bergin may be a fan favorite, but he’s undersized and a step slow against top talent. Good backs are shredding the defense and the LB play is a huge part of that. The MSU RB exposed the lack of speed at LB and the Duke back had his way too.
Hope Uihlein is the real deal and can play sooner than later, and would like to see Jones, Coleman, Rivers and Jansey get some playing time.
