P.J. Fleck sounded like a FOOTBALL COACH, whereas Fitz sounded disengaged, defeated in a way. MN may have ultimately gotten the better deal, regardless of the criticism of Fleck. What's going on? (I would not post this on the Rock, as it would likely be deleted, not currently being open to relevant discussion).

Losing 9 straight games (and 15 of 16, if I recall correctly) will do that to a guy. Issue is what you do about it.

Yes, we could lose 1 more than we have.
What I mean is, we will assuredly lose the two remaining games. I could be wrong but I think Sully is done, and he was our only remaining hope on O. Our defense gave us 300 yards rushing to a team with Zach Galifianakis at QB. So, we are gonna be 1-11, get rid of the stinko staff.

We got problems for sure! I don’t see any easy solution either as we ain’t Nebraska or Michigan, Nor Michigan State!

It has now been too long a down hill slide, with no end in sight. My sense is if Fitz does not speak out about changes in the next few days, there will be a mass exdous of players at the end ot the season. And then what will he do? They might like him, but he's not doing right by his players.

Fitz has to do a total remodeling of the program, meaning he has to gut it first. I hope he does what is necessary to do the job, but if he doesn't he needs to go. The longer this program goes on rudderless, the longer the rebuild will take. To be honest, I am not too sure he is up to the challenge. The NU alumni need to look to the future with optimism. I understand that Fitz is Mr. Northwestern, but there is a time when you have to move on if he isn't getting the job done for the sake of the program. What we are experiencing is unprecedented in my time following CFB since I was a kid, with maybe the exception of those schools nailed with heavy sanctions.

I agree with you If Fitz cared about NU, he would resign. However, he has millions of reasons why that will never happen. Gragg will not fire him unless Pat Ryan says it is ok. Therefore, we are stuck with Fitz. The best we can hope for is a wholesale cleaning of coordinators and coaches.

I do not take this lightly. Our coaches are human beings with families to support. I do not relish hoping someone is canned. However, this is a multimillion dollar endeavor that has our beloved alma mater's name front and center. The name on the front of the uniform is what matters most, not the name on the back.

It is time that Dr. Gragg earns his paycheck. This may prove to be the most difficult thing for him to do in his tenure, but it must be done.

Different situation, but Gary Patterson was Mr. TCU, but after a few mediocre (not godawful) seasons, they but the bullet. They immediately turned the program around. I wish Fitz would do it, but to be fair, he only knows what he's learned at NU. He has no varied knowledge a d he keeps mis-hiring
