Historically the majority of our games this past decade with Minnesota have been close and decided by 7 points or less.

Typical was our homecoming game in 2007 when the Gophers came to Evanston. Behind 14 to 35 in the 3rd quarter we mounted a comeback that rivaled the comeback in the Victory Right game with them in the Metrodome. 3 for 3 on 4th downs. Winning point came on a field goal.

As we prepare for this weeks home game with Minny here is a link to a photo essay put together by GoUPurple at HailtoPurple.com using photos I took. Rekindle the memories as we look forward to the Gophers coming to town again Saturday.

Pictured (in link below):
The Mascots, The Cheerleaders, NUMB in the Stands, The Mimsmobile, The Flag Bearers, Bacher, Peterman with his record 12 catches, McManis, Villarreal, Lane, Kadela, Conteh Simmons, Roberson, Ward.

I really disliked those uniforms.

That picture of the winning kick is great. I'm in it. Guy with white hat on the left with the BIG TEN vest on.

Just listened to CJ Bacher and TJ Jones over on Huddlecast as they looked back on the 2007 game. CJ relates that he never felt more "in the zone" with his four touchdowns in this game despite having had 5 touchdowns the week before against MSU. The 2007 game ended up being won in overtime with the Cats putting up something like 48 points. He expects NU to end up in double overtime this week to get the win. TJ sees us winning in regulation 24 to 17.

An interesting side note though was Bacher's comment that the TV tape for the game was lost by the network. He was told this when he showed up at the stadium for a feature on the game and they had to cancel it because the tape was lost. Otherwise he said this is one of those games that we would see being rebroadcast on BTN. (At least, thanks to GoUPurple at HailtoPurple.com my stills from the game were preserved. ;) )
