Mark Gronowski

This is where I am with lausch. He would have to make an enormous leap just to be an average BIG QB. It’s possible, but I just don’t see it. There is a reason no one recruited him as a QB.

Would love to be wrong.

I don’t think he’s nearly as far “below average” as folks around here think, seeing as he’s had a crap offensive line and crap pass catchers the entire season. He hasn’t been great, clearly, but tough when there’s almost literally nobody making any plays or blocking anyone.

Good Grief. I can’t remember a guy taking this much shit from this board as Lausch when basically the entire team around him is awful. I guess Clayton only won because of Saint Hank so that sums up the analytical skills of most on here.
Clayton was a highly recruited QB coming out of HS. He started as a RS freshman and had a statistically fantastic Sophomore season. He had his moments after that but injuries and McCall hampered his career.

Now do Lausch.

Like I said, I hope I’m wrong.

He was a baseball player / walk-on FB player coming out of high school. Suddenly, our coaching staff that hasn’t landed a HS QB recruit in forever found the overlooked diamond in rough and his struggles at the B1G level are due to the players around him?

Isn’t there a theorem out that speaks to the typical answer to something that many smart people from a high brow education might recognize or is homerism truly that blinding?

This team has no OL and no QB. And hasn’t since the start of the season, and for quite some time. That’s mostly on the last coaching staff.

The downfall of the defense under a defensive head coach - that’s on the current coaching staff.

And players tend to get better over time. Weird.
Yes, guys like Hilinski, Sullivan and HuJo.

I'm not excited about sacrificing another year of 3-4 wins at the altar if Jack Lausch's "development ". He might be Kafka, he might be Sullivan. You say he had a weak supporting cast, you expect better next year?

As I've said in another thread, I don't blame the ventriloquist dummy. It's not his fault that nobody on the team is better than him. But he's currently no better than 16h best starter in the B1G, and maybe 20th ish overall (OSU has 4 or 5 better).

Yes I’m hoping for a better supporting cast based on plans to be more active in the early portal window with an emphasis on WR and OL supported by better NIL funding.

Admissions, admissions, admissions.

The Cats are not a true Big Ten team anymore. We should be in the ACC like Jim Phillips and Notre Dame if we want to compete. Right @EvanstonCat ?

Can we swap spots with @MiamiWolv ?

Good grief. We talk about Gronowski like he is some mythical man-beast with magical powers that can redeem the kingdom. We need a lot more than a good transfer QB to put together a competitive team.
Well, Lujan's offense actually worked with Gronowski

Yea, but he was one of eleven pretty good players at a lower level. Give me ten pretty good players at the B1G level paired with Laush. For their division they had equal or better talent. We do not currently have that advantage at NU.

Did not say that it would work at NU just that he is a guy that ran Lujan's office successfully
