After seeing Reggie Hearn score his first NBA bucket (!), I did a quick search of some of our recent players and discovered that at least three former Cats are now playing in Belgium.

It came up a while back that Demps and Olah were both on the same team (Belfius Mons-Hainaut). Seems that Tre is still starting for that team, but Olah left to play in Romania and then join Zorg and Zekerheid Leiden in the Netherlands.

Better still, both Sanjay and Joey van Zegeren are currently listed as starters for the Stella Artois Leuven Bears!

Tragically, we just missed watching them all play each other (assuming there's some way to watch the Belgium-Euromillions League (...this is probably a terrible assumption)).

And now I want waffles.

Go Cats!

Sanjay is the team's second leading scorer (11.9 ppg), has the best offensive rating and leads the team in 3-point shooting (44%).

Who was it that claimed we were playing 4 on 5 with Sanjay on offense?

I'm not sure who said that but, given what happened, that statement is consistent with the results. When he was out there, we most certainly were playing 4 on 5 on offense. Doesn't mean he couldn't shoot, because I always felt that he had a good shot and he was prolly over 50%. His shooting had nothing to do with our offense. Collins simply stuck him in the corner or kept him around the basket for rebounding and it was designed not to get him the ball. In Big Ten play he couldn't have averaged more than 2 or 3 buckets a game....tops. And he couldn't have averaged more than >4 is my guess. And many of whatever few shots he took were put backs. Someone who played a lot of minutes like he did, I'm sure the opponents realized that Sanjay was simply not part of the NU offense other than maybe 1 or 2 freebie put backs from being around the basket.

Juice Thompson is playing with Istanbul BB in the Turkish League. He led the French League in scoring 2 seasons ago.

Drew Crawford playing in Israel.

John Shurna playing in Spain.

Out of this illustrious group, if you are asked to guess who would make an NBA roster, Hearn might be 5th or 6th on the list.
