Men’s LAX

It’s kind of shame NU doesn’t field a Men’s Lacrosse team. These are our academic peers (for the most part); no reason we shouldn’t be competing in this sport.

Title 9 precludes it I 🤔 think. We'd have to give ladies Schollies for hopscotch. We had a club lacrosse team in the late 80s for guys. Not sure if it still exists 🤔??

We have a men's club lacrosse team, but it is not good. Plays at a very low level.

I love baseball, but it's time to cut baseball and replace with men's lacrosse.

I'd be in favor of that too! Baseball team is at disadvantage cause of weather. Most or many of best lx teams are of similar climate to nu correct? But what would we do with our beautiful stadium? Intramurals??

We wouldn't have to add a women's sport, just increase the number of scholarships given to women. Because of recent NCAA settlement number of women's lacrosse scholarships jumping to 36 from 12. While men's lacrosse limit is going up to 48, you don't have to use all 48. Offer 15 men's scholarships and bump women's team to 30. That should cover it.

This is the way. We can do it if we really wanted to. If we were to drop a men’s sport, I’d advocate either swimming and diving or wrestling. No way we’re dropping baseball after the recent investment in Ricky Miller Park and the large gift was made to the program.
