I reached out to the four 2019 offensive line commits who were in Evanston over the weekend to ask if Fitz had any news about the new OL coach or the search. Unfortunately, there's no real news to report. One of them characterized it as "a conversation" about what the players want in their new OL coach. Fitz didn't have any updates and was essentially gathering feedback from them.
To me, the longer the search goes on, the less likely Kurt Anderson gets the job. It seems like if they were going to name Anderson, they would have done it already. We'll see what happens, but the theory that Fitz hired Anderson to take over for Cushing, and that Cushing was going to get pushed out one way or another regardless, seems less and less credible with each passing day.
