Both great articles. Thanks for posting. After reading the Joe Jones article, I'm surprised he did't have a bigger impact for the Cats.

He was a productive player at NU but it almost seems like he is improving in the pros.

He was always strong on special teams at NU. He had some injury issues that hindered him a bit. I recall him playing with a club for a significant period of time.

A lot going on in his life as the article states. Challenging enough to get the excellent education add getting married and having a baby. It is a lot of priorities to juggle. Right now he is more focused on football than ever.

Yeah, he was pretty much an "athlete" take out of high school despite missing significant time with a broken leg. Small school competition, but put up some pretty impressive track times for a guy with some size to him:

Honestly... he didn't look great in what I saw. Overrunning plays, misreads galore. Going to have to clean up a lot of that to push for starting time. Has all the necessary physical skills.

Jones was a guy that we took who needed a lot of development out of high school. Was a great high school track athlete, but had a lot of physical growth and development ahead of him coming to NU. Couple that with some injuries and seems like one of those guys who could make a nice little NFL career for himself after not doing a ton in college if he can stay healthy.
