I have direct intel on what my cousin’s NIL offers were. He took a transfer offer to a SEC school after playing at a top D2 school and going second team all conference there as a freshman.
He had three primary offers: one SEC, one ACC and one B12.
The B12 NIL offer: $300k straight.
The ACC NIL offer: $200k straight, weird under the table/nebulous offers for “a lot more” - sounds like could have doubled, but without guarantees.
The SEC offer he took: $200k plus ~$10k per appearance (giving a talk at a car dealership, signing autographs, posing for photos, etc)
He took the SEC offer. He’s probably in the top 6 defensive tackle/end rotation at this school but not top 2 in the rotation.
Sadly he had the grades for NU! Would have been a starter surely.
Anyway, thought it was an interesting data point to see what NU is up against.
