No. 1 recruit Bagley commits to Duke, may play this fall

I clarified nearly a MONTH ago that my source was apparently counting a Duke walkon as a scholarship player...so, yes my source was wrong, and I did clarify it weeks before your previous post.

No. You said "it is possible" that the source was counting a walk-on as scholarship player, then went on continuing your conjecture.

You can admit you were wrong. Everything will be OK.

if I am understanding this correctly this is really just another case of NCAA and NBA nonsense. So he's now trying to cram in his remaining high school requirements so that he can re-level to play at Duke this year, so he can enter the draft this upcoming year and it remains to be seen if the NCAA will clear him for any or all of this season. What would be the harm in just letting this kid go to the NBA, besides an NBA team having to pay him sooner.

Nothing. Has nothing to do with the NCAA and everything to do with the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement. The CBA requires players to be eligible for one draft before they enter the league. I doubt the NCAA is unhappy with this agreement, because they get the incremental revenue stream for renting the student-athlete for 1 year. But the real problem lies with the NBA management and players.

And interesting study of productivity versus age suggests that kids are better off staying in school, ignoring the huge amount of money they make to sit on the bench at age 19 or 20....
