I am somewhat surprised that UW dropped out completely. With a win over Minnesota, it might be back.

Assuming they don't make it back into the ranks of the ranked it will be an even tougher call for them to be chosen over Northwestern by the Holiday Bowl people assuming they continue to want Northwestern more than the Outback does. With the Outback off the table for Wisconsin due to the alleged "no two consecutive years in the same bowl rule" it looks like the likely destination for Wisconsin is Music City. The fact that the Outback had no Official Bowl reps at our game in Madison while the Holiday and Citrus did may be telling - especially in light of the Holiday Bowl Representative's affirmative comments stating they would like to have Northwestern.

This from the Chicago Sun Times:

"Wisconsin (8-3, 5-2) entered the game looking like a strong Holiday Bowl candidate. But don’t rule out NU after this win.

‘‘Both have very rich traditions, history and culture,’’ said Holiday Bowl representative Gary Rectenwald, beaming because he’d soon be headed back to Southern California. ‘‘They’ve been playing consistently excellent football. And they have excellent fan bases in Los Angeles, San Diego and Arizona, which is appealing to us.’’"
