NU in Forde's Fab Four

This prognostication is worthless, obviously, but it makes me very uncomfortable. We're playing a very good Michigan team on Saturday, one that will take advantage of any mistakes or lack of effort on our part to hand us a loss. Players can't let early success give them big heads. Preparation and execution must be excellent (at least by the players....I'll be relaxing on my sofa, drinking a cold one...).

I'm just really excited to see some great publicity finally, especially given the complete lack of coverage this past weekend. Michigan and Florida apparently conquered the world on Saturday based on what I saw.

We are actually ranked #1 by 7 (seven) computer polls right now.

Most likely, a win at Michigan puts us in the top 10 in both polls. That would be pretty interesting then when the computer polls start playing a role in overall ranking. I'm not saying its likely or even probable, but this is a year where things are lining up for NU to control its own destiny on the field. This next step with Michigan in a HUGE step towards that end, and then facing (likely undefeated) Iowa the next week can propel us even further. In many ways, this Michigan game is akin to the OSU game three years ago with respect to being a pivotal game. Lets hope this time we continue the trajectory upward. This is a another program defining game in regards to ranking, recruiting, and program stability.
