OT fun fact about Nebraska

I was thinking how much I miss the Big10 ...I just cannot get into watching USC etc...I get the econ of the situation etc...but have no desire to watch a Big10 game on the West Coast in November....palm trees are just the wrong background.

While the Cats are now doomed to a losing conference record with their loss to OSU, Nebraska’s loss to USC clinched their 8th consecutive sub .500 record in the B1G (and their 9th in the last 10.)
I'm almost to the point that if someone told me that Bo Pelinni (or Frank Solich) put a hex on the program when he was fired, I'd believe them.

Me too. Their abysmal record in one score games is such a statistical anomaly and spans across like 3 head coaching regimes. Really the opposite of NU’s winning record in OT games.

They are also 0–9 since 2016 in games that would make them bowl eligible.
If they lose out then maybe Donovan (OL coach) and Dylan Raiola could be persuaded to come here. If we had the $. I guess Nebraska’s OL seems pretty shaky though.

Hey, but the west coast teams have to play here in the snow in November. Although it won't be long before there are palm trees in Illinois.

Incredible considering they started 5-1 (including a 3 score win over Colorado), But now 5-7 isn't out of the question.

They were 5-3 last year, and then ended up losing by 7 in OT, and then 3, 3, and 3 to finish the season.

Nebraska is hilarious.
They're somewhere in the middle of the pack as far as Big Ten football teams I hate, but honestly, I enjoy seeing them lose more than any other team (other than Penn State). Something about how great they think they SHOULD be that makes me happy to see other teams take them down a peg.

What makes you think Raiola would clear NU’s admissions?

As a transfer, no less? 😂

Has any college football team fallen further than UNL? I am not sure I can think of one that even resembles their collapse from dominance. Army? Cornell? Minnesota? Yale?

As someone who grew up in Big 8 country, I find it amazing and sad.

Their last championship, 1995*, corresponds with the last season of the Big 8, which makes sense.

Scholarship limits hit in 1992.

Tom Osborne facilitated a violent criminal. And o not even Lawrence Phillips’ too-early-but-also-too-late death could reverse that karma.

*I think they would’ve beaten the 1997 Michigan split championship team
