Northwestern scores again. In the season finale tonight Hawaii Five-0 Task Force member Lou Grover brought up the fact that his daughter Samantha "just got accepted to Northwestern a few weeks ago." The statement was prefaced by a comment saying, "The timing is creepy" in reference to the case they were working on that involved the illegal transporting of girls of his own daughter's age. (Those watching it online or from having recorded it, the Northwestern promo comes approximately 15 minutes into the show.
In other finale cliff hanger news we are left puzzling over who will or will not show up for the next season. Danny Williams keeps talking about retiring and opening a restaurant, Steve McGarrett describes a radiation caused medical condition that sounds potentially fatal, and in the closing scene we see our beloved Kono on the plane headed to Carson City, Nevada (to take on the task of attacking child trafficking on a national scope) while the rest of the task force celebrate Jerry's promotion in her absence. Added to that there is an implication she is expecting.
Here is Lou sharing the news with Kono that his daughter Samantha just got accepted to Northwestern:
Below are scenes showing the flight plan used by the bad guys to initially transport the captive girls to Carson City, Nevada as well as Kono herself following in pursuit:
.... and the final scene of the finale as the camera closes in on Kono in an "eye shot" reminiscent of the series ending "eye shot" that concluded the also Hawaii filmed "LOST" TV series:
