< With a 5-4 win over Rutgers in the second game of Friday's doubleheader, Northwestern baseball clinched a spot in this week's Big Ten Tournament. The Wildcats finished the regular season with a 24-28 overall record and 13-11 mark in conference a year after going 15-39 (7-17 Big Ten). This will be their first Big Ten Tournament appearance since 2010. >

The improvement from year 1 to year 2 is impressive, nearly CCC level impressive. Big Spencer has this team reaching peak performance. They've won 5 straight going into the tournament.

Maybe JP's best asset is HIS recruiting.

He looks like the real deal. Had some very good Seniors, will be interesting to see what "his" recruits can do in the coming years.
